Description
HISTORIC FRAMINGHAM HOUSES | Colonel Thomas Nixon, Jr.
This series of limited edition notecards are reproduced from a group of watercolors painted by artist William Chignalo.
The card reads:
“Colonel Thomas Nixon Jr. House – Built 1787
The house was constructed by Colonel Thomas Nixon Jr., on land that had been in the family for two generations. It stands on a road that linked the Framingham section of Old Connecticut Path to Marlborough. Col. Nixon served in the French and Indian Wars as well as the Revolution. In 1795 he became a founding member of the Middlesex Masonic Lodge.
The house, restored in 1922, is now protected by perpetual deed restrictions under the stewardship program of the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities.”
